The anodised surface layer
Anodised aluminium is a great material to work with but the Anodic layer (which holds the colour) can deteriorate over time and the result can look like this!! You can see where I’ve cleaned off the excess inks that the colour hasn’t properly been absorbed into the metal and is much paler than I intended. From experience I expected this might be the case so this is only the background layer before I got into full swing painting. Having said that these “faded mistakes” can turn up some stunning creations I would never have thought of doing. It can make things a bit unpredictable but also very exciting!! #learnfromyourmistakes #trialanderror #turnedoutgood
