Hello! my name is Mimi (from Maryland, USA) and I love your work! I first discovered it in a small jewelry store in Bakewell and bought 4 magnificent bracelets for my closest friends and relatives! Now, I'd like to buy 3 more bracelets please! LOVE your deep blue and green in the 1st pic!..and the vivid cobalt blue, silver and turquoise in the 3rd picture and the waves of rich cobalt in the 2nd pic! Looking for 30mm only in all three! Please let me know if you have any of these..or where I might find them! Thank you so much! Your art is amazing! Mimi H S Easton, Md USA 2165. 17.7.2010
Hello! Just want to let you know I received the cuffs. They are magnificent! In fact, I like them so much, I may keep them all (instead of using them as gifts!). Lastly, thank you for the lovely ring! You use of colors is amazing!
Sincerely,
Mimi (again)

Your work is very impressive. I especially like your choice of materials and colors. As an engineer, I work with aluminum quite often but I never would have thought to use it the way you do. The true test of an artist is their ability to take raw and ordinary items and make them into something extraordinary. To see things that others don’t. You have certainly accomplished this. Your work is similar in some ways to a woman in Canada from whom I have also purchased jewelry. Her name is Karen Konzuk and she makes jewelry out of stainless steel and concrete. She shares your inspiration for materials but does not use color the way you do. She leaves the material in an unadorned state while you use it as a canvas.
The item you sent in your email is beautiful. I was actually leaning towards one of your other Klimt designs. It is number 21 on your web site (see attached). It has a similar pattern to the one you sent but has the blue background versus the green. Is this one in stock as well in the 50mm size?
I came across your work quite by accident. I was trying to find a gift for this special woman who will be the recipient of your amazing work. She recently visited the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. I went onto the Museum’s web site to see if there was a gift there that might remind her of the trip. It was on the site that I discovered your Van Gogh inspired work. This special lady love bracelets and I thought that it would be a perfect combination. When I visited your web site I discovered your Klimt work, which as I said, is one of her favorites. It was an easy decision on the gift but a difficult choice as to which one I liked best.
I appreciate the time you have taken to correspond with me about your work. When I wrote, I certainly didn’t expect to hear back from you personally. This will be a great story to tell my friend when I give her the bracelet.
I wish you continued success in the future with your work.
Regards,
Michael

"By using anodised aluminium Michael Peckitt creates the most intense colours for his bracelets, which remind one of Van Gogh’s use of bright colours and broad brush strokes. The inside is adorned with various quotes from the letters of Van Gogh. The bracelet is available in two sizes. A unique gift."

Hi Michael , If you have a bangle like the one in the photo please can you send one. I like the fact that it is simple and not too swirly. If the bangles vary significantly from the one shown I'd be grateful if you could email me photos of them so I can choose. My wife loves a pink bangle of yours so much that I decided to buy one for my sister's 40th. Many thanks. David Gilman August 2009.

Hello Michael,
I,ve been looking at the images you sent us and they are beautiful. They
remind me of the photos that the Hubble took. Izzy and I would like you to
send us an assortment of pieces and could you include some earrings please ?
I didn't know that you made them and we sell lots by other makers so I'm
sure that they will sell. We especially liked the bracelet (DSCN 1614) that
looks very unusual, maybe we could have one like it. Could we have 3
pendants, 3 medium bracelets , 3 small bracelets and 6 pairs of earrings in
various shapes please? I hope you are well and that business is too. Hope to
hear from you soon.

Hi Michael Sorry havent managed to get back to you earlier about this event we were discussing the other day. As a company we do a lot of fundraising for Cancer Research and have been offered a Marquee to do an evening event in. We are inviting 2000 of our customers to an evening event to showcase a lot of our newer brands to show the direction in which the company is going and we are making a donation to Cancer Research based on value of our sales that evening. We would like to strongly promote your brand and although we have a lot of your pieces in stock would like to strengthen our range further. If you would be prepared to either "lend" us a range or send a range on sale or return we would be grateful. Also, I dont know if there is any chance you might be prepared to donate a bangle that could be used for fundraising on the evening? If we had more time we were thinking of having a few bangles made as one offs for the evening of which we would have donated all profits to the charity but I suppose it is too late at this stage? The other thing is do you have any inspirational ideas for displaying your bangles as they would be the first thing people see when they come in and we want them to have a real wow factor. Thanks for your help with all of this. Stephen @ John Pass Jewellers. June 2009

Hi Michael they're AMAZING thank you so so so much!!!! Louise x
Hi Michael,
I just placed an order for 4 of the 50mm bangles through your website--although I ordered 4 of MP06, I do not want 4 of the MP06 colourway! I would also like to order 2 rings at 9 pounds each--are you able to add this to my order, or can you send me a separate paypal invoice for that? Unfortunately there was no ring on your website to allow me to order those.
I must say, I've had the BEST time going through your site today, and googling other sites with your work, to come up with the designs I love the best. There is so much creativity and whimsy ('no black hole for you Vincent'--LOL!) throughout the site--it was really a delightful journey! I could have ordered many more, and hopefully I will in the future! But we'll start with 4, and although I know every piece is unique, I hope you will be able to accommodate my colourway choices. I do love surprises, so I'm sure they will be beautiful even though they of course won't be exactly like the pictures. Holly, Indianapolis USA Novemeber 2008
Hi Michael The much-anticipated box of Michael Peckitt LOOT arrived today, and oh my goodness! I am in HEAVEN!!! The starry nights are even better in person, I could not ask for a more beautiful red/orange/pink bangle, and the rings are fantastic--THANK YOU SO MUCH for the extra ring! I love all the rings and I especially love that they are all so different. . . . .
Oh, and the box! The handpainted box!! It is exquisite! Did you know pale pink is my favorite colour?
Thank you again for such an exciting package!!!! I can't wait to wear them all!

Dear Michael, I've just had a look at your aluminium jewellery and it's lovely. I'm getting married in Feb 2008 and would like to get some pieces for myself and the 'bubble' girls. I'm wearing dark red/maroon and they're wearing red.. Your work from the manchester exhibition caught my eye!! Have you got much stock left from this? and how long does it take for delivery?? The bangles would be fine/ neckl;aces for us older ones but I have got a couple of younger nieces, do you do a narrower bangle or smaller necklace?
Really looking forward to hearing back from you.

Email from Alison Hunte, Admissions @ Royal West of England Academy 18 April 2008 :
"Dear Michael,
I have visited your website and really admire your designs in shape, size and colour in your jewellery collection and would hope that you will be interested in exhibiting your work at the RWA in Bristol in June 2008. We have a display cabinet for the exclusive display by one jeweller and your work would compliment the RWA's next exhibition "Through the lens." This is a special year for the RWA as we celebrate 150 years in Bristol. Regards, Alison Hunte.
" Hello Michael,
Your jewellery is the nicest I've found surfing the entire internet. I came back from travelling and am pining after the great barrier reef. The azures and greens in some of the pieces take me right back. My only concern is I have small wrists and have to push a lot of my bangles up my arms to get a snug fit that won't annoy me. As they're made of aluminium how much wear and tear could they take. If I needed to mould it to my arm, would I be in danger of weakening and damaging the piece?
I know this email must sound daft, but I'm right handed and play the violin, I also like to wear my bangles on my right hand, so the reason I've asked all these silly questions are because my arm moves around a lot and I'd want to show it off.
Any information would be greatly appreciated,
Also as it's coming up to christmas, my mother has a metal allergy and she can't wear many of the metals I can. Gold and Silver seem the best options. I shall enquire to her more thoroughly but anything you could tell me would again be appreciated.
Thank you very much,
regards,
Helen"

I have been munching french toast more often than is good for me for the sole purpose of enjoying your art which I find fascinating. I belong to a small group of artists who get together and attempt to paint. I see you don't supplement your income with workshops, but wonder if you would consider allowing us to simply visit your workshop to enjoy watching you create one of your wonderful pieces of art. Kind regards, Lorraine.
Hi Michael, Thank you very much for offering me a barcelet. I will be phoning today and seeing when it is ok for me to go and look at them. I am so excited as I love you jewellery and i think the Vincent collections is so interesting. I esp. like the jewellery made from the sunflower picture. They are so interesting and unique. I love them. So when you design you jewellery do you draw/paint the desings out then send them away to be made into bracelets etc or do you make them too?
Looking at your designs has given me totally different perspective of how to look at items and gain inspiration from them and I'd like to thank you for this!
Thanks again

Enquiry: I am a 3rd year Jewellery design student (mature) at Sunderland
University, and have decided to write my dissertation about Issues in the
use of man-made plastics in contemporary designer jewellery.
I have been researching into the work of Contemporary designers and I was
very much taken by your work, which I think is quite beautiful.
I would be very grateful if you could answer the 4 short questions below.
Your answers would help me examine the hypothesis of my dissertation, which
is entitled An examination of issues such as value & status, creativity,
longevity & the environmental effects of the use of plastics in contemporary
designer jewellery .
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
Julie Parkinson
Questions ..
1 Why were you first attracted to the use of plastics in your jewellery
design?
As an artist painting on canvas I built layers of colour, varnishes and
texture on the outer surface of the canvas. When I discovered that acrylic
paint was very effective with acrylic sheet I started to do the same but in
reverse, that is I built up the history in my painting from the back surface
of the medium. The result is that one looks into, not just onto the
painting and the effect can be to see pools of light , colour and texture
where different materials are used together (like gold and silver leaf or
even glitter).
2 How do you determine the monetary value of your works, considering that
they may not involve
traditionally precious metals & jewels?
The monetary value of my work is determined by demand, fixing the sale price
to reflect my artistic skill and the emotion I put into the paintings (I do
not work to pattern) and sometimes adjusting the cost price to meet a
gallery's mark up. I like where possible to maintain a similar retail price
which can sometimes mean taking a variable cost price.
3 What consideration do you give to the quality and longevity of the
materials you use?
I use only the finest materials that I can buy and have very reliable
suppliers. Since the works are time consuming to create there is no point
in using cheap materials. So Perspex with its long lasting nature is a
permanent medium to work with in acrylic. Cheaper quality material can be
difficult to cut into shapes. I currently have three people working for me
helping me to finish my artwork after I have completed the creative part and
instructed them in the required designs to shape my paintings into dynamic
wearable art. This is particularly true with the aluminium paintings, see
for example :
http://www.michaelpeckitt.com/starrynightcollection.html
http://www.michaelpeckitt.com/RedSky.html
http://www.michaelpeckitt.com/tie-intoautumn.htm
The quality of the material used and their longevity is directly affected by
the care with which my team and I treat them.
4 Are environmental issues a consideration for you in relation to your
jewellery designs?
Happily I don't have any "issues" in my life! I leave that to others. I am
very proud indeed of the fact that I can make art with a sound perceived
value using materials that are readily available. I hope that you believe
me when I say that I can't wait to get started every morning.
Good luck with your degree.
Michael

Hello there, I'm a 3rd year student studying Jewellery and Silversmithing at
Birmingham City University and am currently researching for my dissertation
on Plastic Jewellery.
I'm specifically looking at the use of acrylic jewellery and am really
interested in your work!
I was wondering if you would take the time to fill out my quick
questionnaire so that I have a clearer idea about why acrylic has become
such a popular material within the jewellery world and also your personal
reasons for using it.
I would really appreciate it if you could, it would really help!
Thank you very much,

What are the main reasons you have chosen to use acrylic within your work?
I am an artist and as such I make paintings on canvas, board, paper, metal
and acrylic. It is one medium. I do not have any reasons for using it as
such.
What qualities of the plastic inspire you the most?
The best quality it has is that, unlike other medium, where paint is applied
to the top surface, with acrylic paint is applied to the bottom surface
thereby creating an illusion of depth when you view my art from the
unpainted side.
What production methods do you use to treat or transform the plastic?
As an artist I paint, apply gold and silver leaf, and other materials to the
plastic in order to build a history into the work over a period of time. It
is this history that adds to its intrinsic value of my wearable art.
Do you feel plastic has a higher place in the market now and jewellery made
from it is more acceptable being sold at a higher cost?
I think that plastic as a material used for fine art jewellery has occupied
the same place for many years, certainly since the 1930s. That place is not
one where preciousness is a key factor. It is a medium for me to display my
art. I have work in museum shops in the UK and abroad including
Philadelphia, Amsterdam, soon Paris and Madrid. These outlets are buying my
wearable art where it is sold in prestigious artistic settings.
Is colour one of the main choices you use plastic in your work and do you
combine it with any other materials?
I use only clear plastic and paint it. I do not dye the material.
What is your work inspired by and how did you begin to use plastic within
it?
I am an artist and never work to a pattern, my design comes into the shape I
make my paintings. I am very inspired by art and can't wait to start work
every morning early. I am also inspired to make flash installations from my
art and I put most of these on the home page of www.michaelpeckitt.com
Please email images of your jewellery.

Michael November 2008

Hello! Just want to let you know I received the cuffs. They are magnificent! In fact, I like them so much, I may keep them all (instead of using them as gifts!). Lastly, thank you for the lovely ring! You use of colors is amazing!

Thank you very much,
Naomi Reading
