Beazley Designs of the Year 2020
A thought-provoking trip to the Design Museum in London to see the Beazley Designs of the year 2020. Some eye opening desings... steak grown from human cells, Stormzy's stab-proof vest designed by Banksy and have you heard of the uncensored library in the digital game Minecraft? The exhibition includes designs from fashion, architecture, food, transport, product and graphic design and spans from January 2019 to the moment global attention shifted in late January 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic took hold. https://designmuseum.org/ There's also a free exhibition on Margaret Calvert who designed the UK's road signing system, railway and airport wayfinding signage and particularly relevant at the moment is the gov.uk website. She also seems to have good humour and these are some signs she made for fun - Women at Work and Mouse crossing!! |
